It is a strong choice for an agency that wants white-label reporting and an API. For a single location, the credit model is the thing to understand before you buy.

What Rankscale.ai is, and who it is genuinely good for

Rankscale monitors ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, Grok and Copilot, and it prices by credits rather than by prompt count. Each time it queries an engine it spends a fraction of a credit, typically 0.25, so a prompt across four engines costs about one credit. That design means you choose your own trade between prompt breadth and engine coverage rather than having a vendor choose for you.

What is genuinely good here:

• Broad engine coverage at a mid price. Eight named engines including Claude, Grok and Mistral, which several more expensive tools reserve for Enterprise.
• Unlimited search terms. You can create as many as you like; only execution costs credits. That is a rare and sensible separation.
• Credit rollover. Unused credits roll into the next cycle up to a stated multiplier instead of evaporating, which takes some of the sting out of a credit model.

Be careful with the $20 figure. Essentials shows up in the feature comparison at the bottom of the page with a "Starting at $20/mo" row and a Get Essentials button, but it is absent from the three plan cards at the top, and the rendered comparison table did not display a credit allowance for any tier when we checked. Treat $20 as the cheapest way onto the platform and $99 as the cheapest plan whose capacity Rankscale actually publishes.

Where it fits a local business, and where it does not

Rankscale fits a small agency well and a single location awkwardly.

Where it works:

• An agency with five to fifty local clients gets 50 brand dashboards on Growth, white-label reporting and an API for $385 a month, which works out around $8 per client at scale.
• Credit rollover suits lumpy agency workloads where one month is a pitch month and the next is quiet.

Where it does not:

• The credit model punishes engine breadth. Tracking eight engines costs eight times what tracking one costs, for the same prompt. A local business that wants ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini on 30 local questions daily is burning roughly 22.5 credits a day, or about 675 a month, which fits inside Pro but leaves little room to expand.
• $99 is the real entry. If Essentials ships without a usable credit allowance, the effective floor for a functioning account is $99 a month, not $20.
• Budgeting takes practice. Credit systems are hard to forecast before you have a month of history, and Rankscale's own page points you at a credit calculator, which tells you how many people find this confusing.
• No local product. Prompts can be local because regions are supported on all plans, but nothing generates the city and category questions or discovers which local competitors the engines name.
