Scrunch AI alternative for local businesses

Scrunch AI Core costs $250 a month for 125 prompts and 5 site audits. Sitecore acquired it in June 2026. See where AnswerFix fits at $39.

Updated September 21, 2026

Scrunch AI is an AI visibility and agent experience platform with a published Core plan at $250 a month for 125 unique prompts, five site audits and four AI engines. Sitecore acquired it in June 2026, so it is now part of a larger enterprise content stack. That price and that ownership both point away from single-location local businesses, which is where AnswerFix starts at $39 a month.

What Scrunch AI is, and who it is genuinely good for

Scrunch goes further than monitoring, and the extra parts are the interesting ones. Alongside prompt tracking and citation reporting it sells Site Diagnostics, Agent Traffic analysis so you can see AI crawlers hitting your site, and an Agent Experience Platform that reformats your existing content so AI agents can parse it accurately without changing what human visitors see. That last piece is closer to actually doing the work than most of this category gets.

It is genuinely good for:

  • Mid-market brands with a content operation. Site audits plus content delivery plus monitoring in one place saves a real amount of coordination.
  • Teams that want to see AI crawler traffic. Agent Traffic is a distinct capability. Knowing that a crawler arrived, and what it took, is different from knowing you were mentioned.
  • Sitecore customers. Sitecore's announcement describes Scrunch insights feeding directly into its content management, content marketing and digital asset management workflows. If you already run Sitecore, this stops being a separate purchase and becomes a supported path.
  • Agencies pitching new business. Agency Core includes three pitch workspaces alongside three brand workspaces, which is a sales tool as much as a reporting one.

PlanMonthlyWhat you get
Core (brands)$250125 unique prompts, 5 site audits a month, 1 brand workspace, 5 user licences, 4 LLMs
Agency Core$500250 unique prompts, 5 audits per brand per month, 3 brand workspaces, 3 pitch workspaces, unlimited licences, 4 LLMs
EnterpriseCustomCustom prompts, workspaces and licences, the Agent Experience Platform, full site audits, API access, SSO, 9 LLMs

The four engines on Core and Agency Core are ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot. Enterprise adds Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok for nine in total. Both published tiers carry a 7-day free trial.

One thing worth flagging plainly: Scrunch's pricing page served us two different layouts on the same day, one showing Core at $250 and one showing a $300 monthly with a $250 annual equivalent. We are printing the figures from the rendered page as a visitor sees it. If the page shows you something different, trust the page.

Where it fits a local business, and where it does not

At $250 a month, Core is roughly six times what a single-location business typically budgets for one marketing subscription. That is the whole story for most readers of this page.

Beyond the price:

  • It is not a local product. There is no geo-grid, no city-and-category question generation, no local competitor set. You would write local prompts by hand out of your 125.
  • Four engines on Core. Gemini, Claude and Google AI Mode are Enterprise features. For a local business, Gemini matters because Google Search backs it.
  • Acquisition uncertainty. Sitecore bought Scrunch for a reported $225 million in June 2026. That is usually good for enterprise customers and less predictable for small self-serve ones. We are not predicting anything. We are saying it is a factor a small buyer should weigh before a twelve-month commitment.
  • The best parts are Enterprise. The Agent Experience Platform, the thing that most separates Scrunch from a dashboard, is not on Core.

What is genuinely useful even at this size: the 7-day free trial takes no credit card, so a local agency can run a prospect audit through it before deciding.

What AnswerFix does differently

  • Local-intent questions, generated for you. Give a website, a city and a category. We write the questions your customers type and run them.
  • Named local competitors. We report which businesses the engine recommended instead of you, using the engine's own answer text.
  • One complete fix, free. The free report hands over one repair with the exact paste-ready code and platform instructions, plus an explicit note of any placeholder you must fill with your own verified facts. We never invent a fact about your business.
  • A re-check that confirms the fix landed. Paste it, press re-check, get an answer in about ten seconds.
  • $39 a month. One location, 25 questions weekly, the full fix queue, three tracked competitors.

Where Scrunch is ahead: nine engines at Enterprise against our three, AI crawler traffic analysis which we do not offer at all, full site audits, an API, SSO, and a content delivery layer. Those are real capabilities and we have none of them.

When to choose Scrunch AI instead of us

  • You run Sitecore. The integration argument is strong and it is the main reason the acquisition happened. If your content already lives in Sitecore, buying Scrunch is closer to switching on a module than adding a vendor.
  • You need AI crawler traffic data. Agent Traffic answers a question we cannot answer at all: which AI crawlers actually came, and what they took. If that is your question, we are the wrong tool.
  • You want the Agent Experience Platform. Reformatting content for agents without touching the human experience is a serious capability. It sits on Enterprise, but if you need it, nothing on our side compares.
  • You are a brand, not a location. 125 prompts across topics and personas is a brand-scale measurement, and it is a good one.
  • You are an agency that pitches with audits. Three pitch workspaces at $500 a month is a reasonable cost of new business.
  • You need nine engines. We cover three and say so.

If you are a single location and $250 a month is not realistic, run the free AnswerFix score and see whether the problem is even worth paying to solve. If the free report shows the engines already name you, the honest answer is that you may not need either of us yet.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Scrunch AI cost?
Core is $250 a month for 125 unique prompts, five site audits, one brand workspace, five seats and four AI engines. Agency Core is $500 a month for 250 prompts, three brand workspaces and three pitch workspaces. Enterprise is custom. Both published tiers carry a 7-day free trial. Checked 21 September 2026.
Did Sitecore buy Scrunch AI?
Yes. Sitecore announced the acquisition in June 2026, describing Scrunch insights as feeding directly into its content management, content marketing and digital asset management workflows. Scrunch still sells self-serve plans at the time of our check, and its pricing page remains live and published.
Does Scrunch AI work for local SEO?
Not natively. There is no geo-grid, no local competitor discovery and no city-and-category prompt generation. You can write local prompts by hand out of your 125-prompt allowance, but you would be adapting a brand tool rather than using a local one.
What is a cheaper alternative to Scrunch AI?
For local intent, BrightLocal Track at $41 a month and Local Falcon Starter at $24.99 a month are both far cheaper and genuinely local-first. AnswerFix is $39 a month after a free score. For brand-level tracking on a budget, Otterly.ai Lite is $29 a month.
